PARTNER
Agrupament Escolta i Guia Pere III i Santa Maria de Foix and Horts Urbans.org. This project aims to disseminate the concepts and values involved in urban horticulture. Participants will take part in the arrangement of urban gardens in Vilafranca del Penedès. Apart from the tasks related to urban gardens, the project will have leisure activities related to this subject in addition to other activities of knowledge of Penedès region; with the participation of the local population.
WORKThere will be different types of work activities, aimed to the arrangement and implementation of urban gardens, such as: clearing the ground; creating the access paths for farmers; creation of nest boxes; construction of elevated gardens for farmers with physical disabilities; creation of irrigation points, in co-operation with local agencies.
ACCOMODATION AND FOODIn a Youth Hostel with all facilities included.
LOCATION & LEISURE ACTIVITYLeisure activities, some related to the topic of the workcamp, others oriented to the knowledge of the natural, cultural and socio-economic reality of the region of Penedes: International Jazz Festival; course for wine and cava tasting; visits to cellars; workshop knowledge of the vineyard; visit to the agroecology center; visit to the Mediterranean sea turtle recovery center; archeological visit to Medieval Castle of Olèrdola, etc.
